Busselton Jetty Museum
The Busselton Jetty Museum, located within the Interpretive Centre, received a multimedia makeover in March 2017! The refreshed Museum brings history to life offering a new and invigorated visitor experience, with interactive, immersive creative technologies.
At the heart of the redevelopment is five Virtual Reality (VR) headsets which feature a 3D experience where users feel like they are actually immersed in that world. When visitors place the googles on their head they feel like they are diving under the jetty, experiencing the beautiful marine life as if they were actually underwater.
Learn about the colourful history of the 152 year old Jetty through two interactive timelines on wall touch screens. There are three centuries worth of images, videos and stories, many of which have been contributed by the community.
Discover some of the 300 marine species that live beneath the Jetty on the marine discovery screen. Select a marine species, it then comes to life with amazing underwater footage and a description of the species. Another interactive wall screen displays 360 degree marine vision where the user touches and swipes the screen to discover mermaids, divers, coral and fish.
The Museum is open 7 days a week and entry is free.
