Interpretive Centre & Museum
The iconic blue boat shed style Interpretive Centre warmly welcomes visitors to the Jetty and is home to the ticket office, gift shop and museum.
You will find everything you need for a fun filled day at the Jetty including drinks, sunscreen, hats, sunglasses, ice cream, fishing gear, bait and more.
Browse our amazing range of gifts, jewellery, clothing, local produce, prints, souvenirs and mementos. For something truly unique we stock one off wooden pieces crafted from recycled timber salvaged from the Jetty.
The museum is located within the Interpretive Centre, received a multimedia makeover in March 2017 and a signage update in June 2020. The refreshed Museum brings history to life offering a new and invigorated visitor experience, with interactive, immersive creative technologies.
Learn the colourful history of the Jetty build in 1865, through two interactive timelines on wall touch screens with three centuries worth of images, videos and stories, many of which have been contributed by the community. A touch table enables users to select and see the visual changes to the Jetty structure and length from the 1800’s to 2000’s.
The Museum is open 7 days a week and entry is free.
