Mermaid Tours

Do you have a little one obsessed with mermaids? Be sure to catch a glimpse of the gorgeous South West Mermaids as they swim past the Underwater Observatory windows this summer! Tours include a return train ride, a guided walk through the Observatory focusing on mermaid facts and the mermaids.

These tours are very popular, we encourage you to book online to secure your spot and avoid disappointment. To book your tour click on Book Online – select Underwater Observatory Tour – choose one of the dates below – select the Mermaid Tour time. 

The mermaids will be visiting on the below Sundays: 

8th & 15th December 2019 – 9am, 10.10am mini tour

5th, 12th, 19th January 2020 – 8am, 9.10am mini tour

2nd, 16th, 23rd February 2020 – 9am, 10.10am mini tour

1st March (long weekend) 2020 – 8am, 9.10am mini tour

12th April (Easter) 2020 – 8am, 9.10am mini tour

Please note you can’t book a mini tour online, these tours are available to book at the Interpretive Centre on the day and don’t include a train ride – visitors walk to the Observatory for the start time for a short self-guided tour to see the mermaids. 

Extra Summer Trains and Underwater Observatory Tours!

We have extended opening hours between 26th December and 12th January 2020 to accommodate extra tours in school holidays! During these dates there will be 5pm and 6pm Underwater Observatory tours and extra trains at 6pm and 7pm. 

Make the most of it watch the beautiful sunset across the ocean as you journey along the Jetty on the Stocker Preston Express Jetty Train! There is also the option to purchase a Snack Box ($11 – GF and vegan option available) to enjoy on the ride out and receive a complimentary glass of Swings and Roundabouts wine.

Not only are the views from the Observatory incredibly breathtaking in the evenings, it is also prime fish feeding time!

Extended hours will also run on 25th January and 29th Feb to 1st March.
