  • Bookings are essential.
  • Please be advised that a booking fee is applied for online bookings at the checkout
  • Australian Seniors’ Card Holders receive a 10% discount on Underwater Observatory Tours only (not Return Train or Mini Tours). 
  • Children under the age of 15 years must be accompanied and supervised by an adult (18+) for the duration of the Jetty Train journey and the Underwater Observatory tour
  • Children under 3 travel free however, must have a ticket (select infant ticket at time of booking) and will be required to sit on an adults lap on the train.

  • A Public Holiday 10% surcharge applies to Underwater Observatory and Train Tickets. We have kept the surcharge to a minimum but this was a financial decision Busselton Jetty Incorporated had to make as a result of COVID to assist us to keep our doors open on public holidays.

The 155 year old heritage listed Busselton Jetty is run by a not-for-profit community based organisation Busselton Jetty Inc (BJI). Proceeds from tour and ticket sales go back into conserving the iconic jetty.

The Jetty

  • Access to the final 150 metres of the jetty is only possible during the Underwater Observatory opening hours.
  • During the Interpretive Centre’s opening hours – there is a small fee of $4 for a Jetty Day Pass for those 17 years and over.
  • The Jetty Day Pass gives you access to dive, fish, swim or walk the Jetty.
  • The Jetty is 1.8km long and the walk takes approximately 25 minutes each way.
  • Walk Tickets are valid all day and can be purchased at the Interpretive Centre window.
  • Outside of the Interpretive Centre’s opening hours, admission is free.
  • Prams, walkers, wheelchairs and mobility scooters are allowed on the Jetty structure, but please be mindful of the need to pass the train. 
  • Annual Passes are also available, $50.00 for an adult and $25.00 for a pensioner.
  • Resident Annual passes are available for those who reside in the City of Busselton. Purchase a financial year pass for $4.00, in person at the Interpretive Centre.

The Jetty Train Ride

Sit back and relax while the driver takes you on a journey 1.7km across Geographe Bay.

  • The Train departs the Interpretive Centre on the hour.
  • Tickets are valid for one return trip and can be used as a Jetty Day Pass for walking.
  • The Return Jetty Train trip takes approximately 45 minutes to complete.
  • Bookings are recommended and can be made online, at the Interpretive Centre or over the phone on (08) 9754 0900.
  • Children under 3 travel free however, must have a ticket (select infant at time of booking) and will be required to sit on an adults lap on the train. 
  • If you require your wheelchair or walking frame during the Jetty Train journey or Underwater Observatory tour please select the Wheelchair option when booking online or notify staff at time of booking. 
  • Prams/strollers (including compact folding types), are not permitted on train due to limited space and safety requirements. We recommend the use of a baby carrier.

 The Underwater Observatory

  • The Underwater Observatory is located 1.7km along the Busselton Jetty. Explore with a guide and descend 8m to the ocean floor via a spiral staircase of 60 stairs.
  • Tickets on an Underwater Tour include complimentary return train ride, a 40 minute guided tour of the Underwater Observatory and Jetty Day Pass.
  • Tours depart on the hour and take approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes to complete.
  • The Underwater Observatory can accommodate 44 people per tour (varies with Covid 19 restrictions & seasonal requirements in winter).
  • Access to the Underwater Observatory is only possible via a tour.
  • A lift is available for those with limited mobility.
  • Children under 3 travel free however, must have a ticket (select infant at time of booking) and will be required to sit on an adults lap when on the train. 
  • Prams/strollers (including compact folding types), are not permitted on the train or inside the Underwater Observatory due to limited space and safety requirements. We recommend the use of a baby carrier. 
  • Seniors who present an Australian Seniors Card receive a 10% discount (applies to the full Underwater Observatory Tour only)
