GENERAL CONDITIONS OF ENTRY

  • Retain your ticket as proof of purchase. Your ticket is only valid for the date selected at the time of purchase.
  • In the event of an emergency or adverse weather, follow the direction of BJI staff or emergency personnel. Exit the Jetty immediately or move the nearest building if lightning occurs.
  • All visitors should be cognisant of the jetty’s condition with regard to dress and physical requirements. Appropriate footwear must always be worn. We recommend enclosed footwear.
  • Busselton Jetty Incorporated (BJI) accepts no liability for any loss, damage or injury arising from the activities or whilst at or on the Jetty or surrounding waters.
  • Visitors must observe all warning signs, off limit areas, City of Busselton by-laws and other general laws pertaining to the use of the jetty and expected standards of behaviour.
  • BJI reserves the right to change, cancel or reschedule its tours or operations at any time without notice.

WALK TICKETS

Visitors agree:

  • They are entering the premises at their own risk.
  • To retain this ticket as proof of purchase. The ticket is only valid for the date stamped.
  • To observe all signs and comply with all laws regarding use of the Jetty.
  • That no refunds will be given if you simply change your mind. BJI may issue a refund for extenuating circumstances at its discretion.
  • That in the event of an emergency (e.g. adverse weather conditions), you must follow the direction of BJI staff or emergency personnel and exit the Jetty immediately, or move to nearest building if lightning occurs.

BJI can deny access or eject visitors acting recklessly, being a nuisance, not following directions/rules or affecting the safety of its operations or other members of the public.

TOUR & TRAIN INFORMATION

  • The Jetty Train departs the Interpretive Centre on the hour.
  • Tours of the Underwater Observatory, including a return Jetty Train ride, depart the Interpretive Centre on the hour.
  • Admission to the Underwater Observatory is only possible by participating in a tour.
  • The Underwater Observatory has a maximum capacity of 44 people per tour. This capacity is reduced at times dependent on weather and ocean conditions. 
  • The Jetty Train has a maximum capacity of 90 passengers per trip.
  • The Jetty Train is able to accommodate wheelchairs and walkers however a wheelchair ticket must be booked to ensure enough space is allocated.
  • Train compartments are allocated. Every effort is made to seat members of the same party close together, however there is no guarantee. Please note, being seated in adjacent compartments to other members of your party is within Busselton Jetty’s definition of being seated together. 
  • There are six flights of ten stairs within the Underwater Observatory
  • A lift within the Underwater Observatory is available to mobility impaired patrons. 
  • Translation sheets are available from the Underwater Observatory: Chinese, Japanese, Indonesian, French, German, Dutch, Italian, Korean and Polish.
  • The Underwater Observatory and Jetty Train tour ticket includes all day access to the Jetty. 
  • Children under the age of 15 must be with an adult during all tours and train journeys;
  • Due to safety regulations fishing gear, diving gear, large luggage, prams and strollers are unable to be taken on board the train or into the Underwater Observatory. 
  • We recommend the use of a baby carrier if you have one available. For a $10 deposit you can secure your pram to the Jetty for the duration of your trip, please advise our friendly bookings staff if this service is required.

DIVE & SNORKEL TICKETS

Visitors understand:

  • There are no lifeguards on site and no electronic shark barriers;
  • There are natural hazards when you enter the ocean including sharks, marine life interaction, stingers, strong winds, rough sea conditions and currents;
  • Snorkelling and diving can be strenuous, even in calm water. If you are a novice, have a medical condition, or are over 50 years old, consider your limitations;
  • Not to handle coral, marine life or sculptures as you can be hurt by doing so.
  • If water visibility is poor, exit the water using the nearest safety ladder. Some objects are sharp underwater so it is recommended to only stay in the water when you have good visibility;
  • To Avoid people wearing long tail shark shields. Contact may result in an electric shock;
  • Life buoys and First Aid kits are at the Underwater Observatory– in emergencies call 000;
  • To avoid swimming inside sculptures. You could become entangled or not able to exit;

BOOKING & PAYMENT INFORMATION

  • Bookings are required for the Underwater Observatory and Jetty Train.
  • Bookings can be made online, over the phone or in person at the Interpretive Centre.
  • Online bookings are charged an administrative fee by the Booking Software Platform.
  • Payment must be made at time of booking.
  • Payment methods include cash, EFTPOS, Mastercard and Visa.
  • In person or phone bookings for the Jetty Train or Underwater Observatory made with a credit or debit card incur a 0.5% surcharge.
  • Retail purchases made with a credit card incur up to 1.3% surcharge.
  • A Public Holiday 10% surcharge applies to Underwater Observatory and Train Tickets. 
  • A 10% Australian Seniors Card discount is available for Underwater Observatory Tours only.

CANCELLATIONS & REFUNDS

  • Busselton Jetty Inc (BJI) reserves the right to cancel any tour with or without notice as deemed necessary due to adverse weather, wind or ocean conditions and/or for the well-being and safety of its patrons & staff.
  • If BJI cancels a train/tour, patrons will be offered:
      • change of time/date, or;
      • credit voucher (valid for 3 years)*
  • * Refunds may be given where people are unable to change or revisit within 3 years.
  • Cancellations, made by the ticket purchaser, 24 hours or more prior to the scheduled train/tour departure time will be offered:
      • change of time/date, or;
      • credit voucher (valid for 3 years)
      • refund
  • Cancellations, made by the ticket purchaser**, between 1 and 24 hours prior to the scheduled train/tour departure time will be offered:
      • change of time/date, or;
      • credit voucher (valid for 3 years)

** You must speak to a member of BJI’s customer service team over the phone regarding a short notice cancellation. Voicemail, email or social media message is not sufficient notification. **

  • BJI will not refund, reschedule or offer credit if you are a no show, cancel with less than 1 hours notice prior to the train/tour departure time, miss your purchased train/tour time or disagree with your compartment allocation on the train.
  • If BJI deems the weather and/or ocean conditions to be safe/appropriate, we will not refund, reschedule or offer credit should the conditions not be to your liking.
  • BJI may request to view the credit card used for booking, along with photo identification, to confirm ownership of the credit card. In the event that the card ownership cannot be verified, the original payment will be refunded, and new payment required before tickets can be issued.
  • Exceptions to the above policy are at the discretion of Busselton Jetty Inc.

GIFT VOUCHER TERMS & CONDITIONS

  • Gift Vouchers have a 36 month expiry date 
  • Gift Vouchers will not be replaced if lost or stolen, are non-refundable and not redeemable for cash;

FUNDRAISING POLICY

BJI expects that anyone wishing to donate consider their decision carefully and check donation amounts during transactions. BJI will give a donor a refund within 60 days of a donation if:

  1. there was an error made by BJI or one of our agents.
  2. the donation was made by a person of unsound mind; or
  3. the donor entered the wrong amount.
