Whale Season
The Margaret River Region becomes a captivating haven for an estimated 35,000 whales migrating from the Antarctic between June and December every year. Gracing the area with humpbacks, southern right whales, and occasionally the majestic blue whale!
We have had several sightings of whales from the Jetty itself in recent years and in 2021, Underwater Observatory visitors were treated to a humpback whale sighting 8m beneath the waves from one of our 11 viewing windows! (photo below).
